How I can help as a professionally trained counsellor

I am trained in Psychosynthesis counselling. This approach offers a way of exploring those aspects of ourselves that are in conflict with each other. Psychosynthesis looks at the internal blocks that hold us back from living life fully.

With self-esteem and confidence issues, for example, this might play out in the conflict between the self-doubter within you and the part of you that longs for something different.

Very often we can compare ourselves unfavourably to others, thinking they have it all, without having solid evidence to know how others truly feel about themselves. This can keep us artificially small in believing that we are perhaps the only ones who don't have our lives fully worked out.

My location

I am based in Westerham, near Sevenoaks and Oxted, for in person counselling sessions. Online and phone counselling is also available.

My fees

I charge £60 per session; each session is 50 minutes.

My Approach

As a psychosynthesis counsellor my approach involves sensitively exploring issues through discussion and sensitive questioning and, where appropriate, perhaps working creatively with guided visualisations, drawing, imagery and dreams.

I work in the way that best suits each individual and so my focus is less about techniques and more about the importance of the therapeutic relationship.

My initial aim is to enable people to gain an expanded awareness around difficult thoughts and feelings and how these might be holding them back. With increased awareness comes the possibility of thinking about ourselves and our lives differently, and making different choices in how to move forward.
